During my trip to Vienna, I saw the artworks of Egon Schiele that inspired me to write some reflections on an old canvas.
When I returned to Brussels, I asked a friend to pose for me and, on that old canvas, I created Sepia Poem. Materials, colors and subject of my painting are inspired by Egon Schiele’s unprejudiced expressionism.
The painting was created during a time when my life was deeply unsettled but imbued with a profound artistic sensibility.
