In a small Nubian village

One afternoon, while walking through such a village, a young man invited me to tour the place on his motorcycle. Although the time was brief and I did not capture his image in any photographs, his face, marked by the harshness of the sun and life in the desert, remained deeply etched in my memory.

That afternoon, I observed how the village, resilient but worn down by the unforgiving climate, breathed a unique life, tinged by ochre hues.

On the last night of the voyage

On the last night of the voyage, the captain awoke quietly before dawn. At 4:30 a.m., the crescent moon reflected in the waters of the Nile, creating a gentle dance of light and shadow.

Silence enveloped the moment, as the felucca cut through the river, leaving a wake that seemed to merge with the darkness and mystery of the Nile.

Finally, the holy Temple of crocodiles.

Guided by the unseen presence of the goddess Lah, we sailed toward the Temple of Kom Ombo, the home of the ancient sacred crocodiles.

From this incredible experience came my new painting called Nubio

Nubio is the young nubian man who accompanied me through the village on a motorbike.

The heat of the desert, the coolness of the Nile, the ochre of the villages and the sanctity of Kom Ombo all come together in the portrait of Nubio.

As artists, we often find inspiration in the most unexpected places.
