Journey through the wonders of Luxor

The balance between creation and destruction: Hathor and Sekhmet

A Goddess’s Two Faces

Karnak Temple.

Late afternoon.

The ancient stones whisper stories of forgotten times. A fragmented sculpture stands before me, its mysteries echoing through millennia.

The air is thick with history. Tourists’ voices fade into the distance. A local guide’s words float in the air: “Sekhmet, the lioness goddess.” But my mind wanders to Hathor, her gentler self. The same deity, two souls intertwined.

I touch my sculpting tools. My fingers tremble with anticipation. The clay waits.

Duality lives in these walls. Hathor’s grace dances with Sekhmet’s fury. Love and destruction. Beauty and devastation. As the shadows grow longer, I begin to shape the clay. In my hands, she emerges – not as the fierce destroyer, but as the nurturing mother. Harmony flows through my fingers. The ancient goddess guides my creation.
